Oxygène Collection Domino

Strictly limited single barrel bottling from the rediscovered remaining stocks of the Chateau Campagne d'Armagnac distillery, which had to close almost a quarter of a century ago.

The hidden treasure of a forgotten distillery

In the heart of Gascony, surrounded by gently rolling vine-yards and the whispering of ancient oaks, the story of the distillery at Château Campagne d’Armagnac began in 1965. An enchanted place like something out of a fairy tale, it would become the setting of an ambitious endeavour. Jean Hémard, the visionary CEO of Pernod, purchased the château with an eye towards crafting an armagnac of incomparable quality. To that end, he had his own vineyards planted and constructed the now-famed distillery in the estate’s venerated cellars. Itwas the beginning of a great adventure about concentrated flavours and the leisurely passage of time.

Between 1966 and 2001, outstanding armagnacs were distilled here and then sold under the melodious marque Marquis de Montesquiou. However, the economic recession thatoccurred around the turn of the millennium forced the distillery to close. Its gates were barred shut, its stills disas-sembled – and yet, something grandiose remained. A priceless cachelay hidden there, surrounded by wood and darkness: a small number of barrels of pure distillates that preserved the house’s artisanal heritage and waited far too long to be awokenfrom their slumber.

A new chapter begins

Two decades later, Alexander Stein, the charismatic creator of Monkey 47, discovers these nearly forgotten vessels. In the distillates' deep, complex character, he recognises more than just mature armagnac: He sees a story that yearns to be told further; a game that has not been played to its end. This is how the Domino Collection was born in 2025 as a tribute to an ancient craft, the power of time, and the magic of singularity.

Playing with time

Each bottling of the Domino Collection comes exclusively from the old vintages found in those few treasured casks. No corrections, no embellishments – just pure, authentic flavour. Each bottle's label is adorned with a different domino, symbolising its individuality, uniqueness, and the eternal game of life. The collection comprises 29 editions: 28 classic tiles and a special tile that represents the centrepiece of the series.

Due to the very limited quantities available, each bottling is a liquid treasure – inimitable, one-of-a-kind, and thus highly coveted. It's more than armagnac. It is the memory of a great vision, an amber-coloured monument to a story told through oak and time. An unparalleled value that no collection should be without.

Edition 1 4:4 – 1988

Intense, mature notes. Candied fruit (plum, dried apricot, dates) with orange peel, honey, and dried figs. Typical characteristics of aged barrel: mocha, tobacco, cedar wood - even a hint of cigar box and truffle. There is often also a pleasant piquant aspect featuring cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper. A delicate floral note (violets, dried roses) reveals the elegance of this astonishingly ebullient old Bas-Armagnac.

Terroir

Bas-Armagnac of the Ugni blanc grape variety, planted in the commune of Eauze. The barren, water-permeable, and iron-rich sandy soil (sables fauves) around Eauze ensures low yields (and thus more concentrated berries) with an optimal balance of zest and acidity and a potent aroma. The young distillates are fresh, elegant, and straightforward, with a refined structure that develops very subtly during maturation and produces complex, long-lasting flavours. Distilled at the Château de Campagne from the estate's own wines.
