Girafe d’Or is a liqueur produced in the south-western region of France, based on Armagnac and aromatised with bitter orange distillates, selected botanicals, and vanilla sourced from Madagascar. The components are carefully blended to form the final assemblage, which is subsequently matured for an additional six months in seasoned French Armagnac casks allowing the composition to achieve greater harmony and balance.
Girafe d’Or follows the classic orange liqueur production method, using Armagnac as its base spirit. Sun-ripened bitter orange peels are macerated and gently distilled to obtain an aromatic distillate with pronounced citrus and bitter orange notes. This distillate is blended with aged Armagnac, and during a resting period the fruity, bittersweet orange aromas harmonize with warm oak and vanilla notes, creating a complex and balanced liqueur.
Ripe orange fruit, candied citrus peel and sweet orange oils lead the nose and palate, layered with Madagascar vanilla, gentle spice and subtle oak from the Armagnac base.
